image3-2 It was a Thursday afternoon when I got a call from a friend who wanted to fish for a few hours after work. He had access to a bass pond that was bordered by houses on one side and a golf course on the other. My friend picked me up and we were at our destination in five minutes. It was great knowing that we were only minute from home. Our usual drive time on our fishing trips is at least an hour. We got ready and walked down to the pond to see if there was any activity. image1-3   We ended up making it to the opposite end 0f the pond. We decided we were going to fish big nasty streamer for the large mouth bass. It didn’t take long before we were into our first fish. A nice 15 inch bass that fought like crazy trying to get rid of that streamer in his mouth. We fished for a while then decided to walk the bank on the way back to the car. image2 We didn’t see any activity so we started blind casting. I asks my friend if there were any carp. It looked like an ideal carp pond. He was pretty sure there were only bass. A few casts later I hooked into a big fish. A few minutes into it I knew it wasn’t a bass. Sure enough, it was a big carp that crushed my streamer. What a great way to end the day. I hope I get another invite to fish this local pond again.]]>
