image1-3 Winter fishing can be some of the best fishing of the year. Don’t let the cold weather keep you from fishing some of you favorite places. Here are some tips for fishing during the colder months of the year.   1- Fish during the warmest time of the day. Usually the warmest time of the day is between 11-2. Waking up early in the am can be good but you will get cold and might not last very long. If you hit the water during the warmest time you will get 3-4 hours of good fishing and still be able to feel your toes and fingers. 2- Take the gloves off. I see this often when fishing with friends. They’ll catch a fish and reach into the net with their gloves on. Take the gloves off. If you get your gloves wet it’s almost impossible to get them dry. Take them off when you land the fish and snap that photo that will make you and the fish famous, put the dry gloves back on. You will be a lot warmer and more comfortable. 3- Don’t touch the fish. If you don’t want a photo and the fly is hooked where you can see the fly, simply reach down and pop the fly out without touching the fish and getting your hands wet. You will last a lot longer by doing this. 4- Wear a beanie. By wearing a beanie you trap all of your bodies heat which in turn will keep you toasty. It will also allow youth cover your ears. If your head is warm then your core body temperature will be at a comfortable level.]]>
