Winter has arrived at Falcon’s Ledge and with winter comes bird hunting and winter fishing. The winter season at Falcon’s Ledge is a peaceful, quiet time of year that is wonderful for bird hunters and fishermen that enjoy privacy and seclusion and spending time in nature during the winter months. In this blog we will share a few of our favorite aspects of winter bird hunting and fishing.

One of our favorite parts of winter bird hunting and fishing is the solitude and peace in nature that winter provides. The winter months are quiet and peaceful due to the fewer number of guests hunting and fishing this time of year and the peace that the soft snow brings to nature in the winter. Bird hunters will be able to hunt with our amazing bird hunting guides and their dogs in privacy and solitude in the winter as they watch the dogs search the bushes and thick grasses for pheasants, chukar, and quail. The dogs are beautiful to watch as they run through the cover and flush birds that burst from the thick cover into the air. The snow on the ground provides a story of the birds and other wildlife that live in the area and it is one of the most enjoyable things in the winter to watch the tracks in the snow and listen for the sound of pheasants calling and other wildlife in the quiet of the winter.

Winter offers great opportunities for fishing at Falcon’s Ledge. During the winter several of the rivers around Falcon’s Ledge continue to fish well and provide great winter river fishing for fly fishermen that want to get out on the river and catch some trout fly fishing during the winter months. Ice fishing also becomes and option in the winter months for those fishermen that like to have a change of pace and get out on the lakes and do some ice fishing during the winter months in Utah. The lakes at Falcon’s Ledge have frozen over and the ice fishing just began last week. Fishermen and their families can enjoy the peace and solitude of fishing at Falcon’s Ledge on the private lakes in the winter by renting a couple rooms in the lodge for a small group or the entire lodge for a large group. One of our favorite parts of the winter is to spend the day catching fish through the ice and playing in the snow and then going in and getting warm by the fire and soaking in the amazing hot tub.

Bird hunters and fishermen and their families will love the winter at Falcon’s Ledge and will find the winter season to be a beautiful time of year to be out fishing and hunting in the mountains and along the rivers around the lodge.

We hope to see you and your family this winter at Falcon’s Ledge Lodge for some Utah winter bird hunting and fishing.
