The stream fishing at Falcon’s Ledge has been excellent. The end of summer is near and the transition into fall will be exciting. Some of our streams will start to see more hoppers on the water which means even better dry fly fishing is ahead.
Our fish are starting to feel the cold nights and they are eating as much as they can to bulk up for the winter. The trout know that they have a short window to feed before the bugs disappear and the frigid temps start to set in.
September and October are excellent times to fish our streams. The leaves will be changing soon and the temperature will be dropping which makes for a very comfortable fishing experience.
Most of our streams have good populations of brook trout, cutthroat trout, rainbow trout and brown trout. The high elevation streams are fished with 2wt-4wt rods depending on where we’re fishing. Small rods are fun and more fun to fish with because of the size of fish and water. If you’re looking for some good small stream fishing come visit us this fall and we’ll take you to some of our favorite waters.]]>
