It’s early October here in eastern Utah and the weather has been pretty sporadic. One day it will be nice and sunny with temps in the high sixties which makes fishing very pleasant. It can also be the opposite. It can be cold, windy, rainy and snowy. Just the other day we were fishing in a blizzard wearing our parkas to stay warm and dry.
It’a a good idea to be prepared for anything this time of year. We try to bring a light jacket or rain jacket along with us in case the weather takes a turn on us without notice. It can be very miserable fishing in a blizzard or rainstorm without the proper clothing. Often the day starts out sunny and calm but can quickly change. If you plan on coming to Utah to fish in the fall, here are a few tips to help you have the best experience possible.
-Fish during the warmest times of the day which is usually 12-4
-Always bring a rain jacket and sweatshirt
-Have a good pair of light fingerless gloves
-A buff will help you stay warm
these are just a few tips that will help you have the best experience if you’re not familiar with Utah weather.
