The unusually cold weather at Falcon’s Ledge the past week has brought ice and snow early to the Falcon’s Ledge property, but the winter fishing on the rivers around Falcon’s Ledge is still good and river fishing will stay consistent for the next month. It looks like winter weather is here to stay, but the winter weather doesn’t stop the great outdoor recreation around Falcon’s Ledge. In this blog we will discuss the great winter fishing and hunting for groups to enjoy during the winter months at Falcon’s Ledge.
River fishing and ice fishing are both options during the winter months. Anglers that are looking to get in some river fishing during the winter months will find some great fishing on the rivers near the lodge. On warm winter afternoons midge hatches are common and midge and baetis patterns are good patterns to try during the winter months. Streamers patterns are also great to try in the deeper pools and runs and can often produce some large brown trout during the winter months. Ice fishing around Falcon’s Ledge is also a great way to catch fish in the winter. The lakes around the property have safe ice starting in December and the ice fishing is good until late February.
Pheasant hunting is one of our favorite winter activities at Falcon’s Ledge. Falcon’s Ledge’s Pleasant Valley Hunting Preserve is open from late September until the end of March. Hunters will find some of the best bird hunting in North America at this beautiful 3,000-acre upland bird preserve. Groups that want to do some bird hunting can come out to Falcon’s Ledge this winter and spend time with family or friends relaxing, eating good food, and bird hunting with highly trained hunting dogs.
Families will find a private winter wonderland at Falcon’s Ledge from December to March. Groups of family or friends that want to spend time together in privacy at the beautiful Falcon’s Ledge Lodge will find endless fun in the private canyon including ice fishing, sledding, hiking, ice skating, and soaking in the hot tub.
We hope to see you this winter at Falcon’s Ledge for some Utah winter recreation!
